Anyone have any recommendations for a signal booster/antenna for home use. The GNex is my sole connection to the outside world. I get decent LTE at my cabin, but out on the porch it is 1 bar stronger, and I can tell the difference... I'm tethering from in the house now, and the phone is out on the porch, and it is much much faster. Anyone have any experience with signal boosters and the like? It would be cool to have something I just plug in and set on a desk, or even something I mount on the porch or cabin roof...
You'll have to fork out some Benjamins (6 to be exact ), but there are 700MHz signal booster kits presently available. I have no experience with them though.
Gotta pay to play I guess The one milan03 is talking about is supposed to be out 2nd quarter 2012 and run around $200 iirc
Something like that, maybe a little more, but yes, Wilson (Cell Phone Signal Boosters and Antennas at Wilson Electronics - Wilson Electronics Inc.) is working on a 4G compatible booster setup. EDIT: found it -> http://www.wilsonelectronics.com/ProductDetails.aspx?Product=154&Category=11 Says coming soon still, but that gives you a reference. I'm sure as it nears launch, you'll see it available as a kit with internal/external antennas included, just as the current models are.
I was looking into this as well when I was on t-mobile, which barely worked in my new apt. Found some cheap DIY solutions on the instructables site. Not sure if they work with LTE, but might be worth a try. I never tried them since i decided getting the gnex was a better solution.
LOOOOOL!!! It's funny because it's true... probably, but I don't know from experience ...problem is my second line wouldn't be able to get unlimited data!!!
