Two things happened yesterday: 4G LTE finally went live in Seattle ATT released the OTA update which I installed last night Let me preface by saying that before the update, I have never had battery problems with my GS3. However, I unplug my phone as usual this morning, commute in to work, and did nothing but read a few emails like I normally do first thing after unplugging the phone from the charger. Well, after about an hour and a half, I usually check more email, but instead of having close to 95% batter, I instead was down to 82%! I then took the screenshots and emailed them to me from my phone, and battery went down to 79%. So is 10% battery loss per 45 minutes with little or no phone activity standard when connected to LTE? I have no intention of whining about short battery life, but is this common, and if so, how the heck can I turn it off?
well yes you can turn it off, but i see no reason to do so, because i get almost perfect battery life. I mean about 40% by 10pm on verizons lte. I am running a custom rom, but i still have no issues with battery on default. if you want to turn it off, the only way i know of is through phone info app from the store. try that
Seriously? Then I need to look at a custom rom. Anyone know of a good one for ATT with better battery life in LTE areas? (I guess I need to post this over at XDA...)
Run CyanogenMod10. It's Jelly Bean 4.1.1 and runs super smooth. I've had great performance and LTE battery life drain has degraded battery performance but only minimally.
