As the title says: my mail notification shows that I have six emails (that is: the white number in the green circle) no matter whether I have no emails or plenty. When I delete my emails, it still shows six. I've tried rebooting. It used to work OK. Any ideas?

It now says I have 13. This is very weird. Any ideas?

Could it perhaps be saving your emails to the memory card

I delete all my emails after reading them.

If its saving emails to your memory card then all you would be deleting is the email on the phone. Not looked into it too much as i get all my emails on the pc

I've looked on my SD card, and there's a folder called .Mail, but it's empty. I can't see anywhere else on it that has emails.

This is an odd problem, normally you can work most of them out if you think of the desire as a computer rather than a phone.
Have you tried looking at the card using a card reader, just to check the phone isn't putting them in there or in another folder as hidden.

Are you still using a stock rom or have you switched to a custom rom?

Try pressing the menu button when you got your mail app open, you will find options for other folders there.
see if its reading from those.

I can go to other folders, but I can't tell which ones it's reading from. And, incidentally, apart from trash, they're all empty.

Thanks for all your help, BTW.

Are you reading them in the mail app, or via a widget?

Someone a while ago reported the widget doesnt mark them as read.
