Yea, I use either LP+ or ADW-when I am on an app and finished w/ it, I always "back-out" so I will return to my home screen. No matter which launcher I have:
    Go
    ADW
    LP
    ZEAM
    (all the above)
no matter what I try my home screen kills then gets reloaded. OR the home launcher goes into FC.. I'm telln ya-I am soooo tired of it. Productivity of utilizing my phone-out the window. In the past week or two-reboots/freezes, and almost every aqpp I use it FC's. Thats when I want to "quickly" go from on app to the other. You know busy using my DROID 1. I am completely feed up. I am trying to be patient.
I make sure that the home launcher is set to one System Persistent.
NOTE: I do have an auto switch button for the apps inside my DROID. Sometimes I have it set on-so it can rotate, sometimes off-so it wont.
No matter-"15times out of 9times" it will kill my home screen, making me wait for it to reload-then it reloads, and I want to accomplish something else,my launcher might go into FC or the app I want to use goes into FC.

I know there is allot of words to read, BUT i wanted to try and "splain" so yous guys can help me with this. I am unrooted-I know shame on me

    Hello bleedGreen.

That sort of behavior seems most likely caused by an app or widget that is not playing nice with the others.

The way to test for which one (or more than one, sometimes), is to go to the trouble of uninstalling every Market (or other 3rd party) app/widget in your device, including all but one launcher, and then reboot.

Then start the painstaking process of installing them again, one at a time, until you see that behavior again. As soon as you see it, there's your bad app (at least one of them).

I'd first suspect syncing apps and widgets such as weather or news, Facebook, etc.

Another slightly less tedious way to try to wash out the FCs is to go into application manager at menu > settings > applications > manage applications and individually select each app/widget and clear data and cache on them then reboot after each one, watching for the bad behavior to go away (do this all on a fully charged battery, of course ;)).
