Hey everyone.

Maybe someone can help me out with some information. I am a graphic designer who is interested in making themes for the Android OS. I have never done any kinds of designs for cell phones, however, I am great at icon designs and GUI designs.

Can anyone send me in the right path of how to make Android designs?

I would also like to know more on this. I made themes for BlackBerry's when I had mine, and I'd like to do some now for Android. Thanks in advance to anyone who can point us in the right direction!

Looks like someone wants to keep it a secret. That's so not cool.
I'm looking to make them for the Hero, perhaps we all need to team up.:D

I'm not a programmer, but I think I've seen a collaboration area on Google. Since they make the Android OS, that seems like the best place to start.

Ya got me droolin.

I just want to make a background, replace icons and other visual elements. I know there are some apps that allow me to change that but I am tired of apps crashing my comp. What I'd like to know is if there is some way to go deep into the OS and pull the folder where all visual elements are and edit them, like one would on a computer. Any help?

I've been looking at creating a theme myself. However I find a lot of stuff over at XDA confusing. For example I don't know if when people are talking about themes for the G1 (which most stuff on that site seems to be?), if it's applicable to my phone as well? (Hero)
