So Cal USA!
When I mount my phone there are a lot of deferent folders that I have no idea what they are for, even empty ones. How could one manage their folders and content in those folders to minimize usage on the SD card? Example: I have repeated sound effects that I have downloaded. If I go to assign a notification sound it shows three or four of the same sound. Also, repeated picture folders. Please help.

the only folders for notifications that you need are:
/sdcard/media/audio/alarms
/sdcard/media/audio/notifications
/sdcard/media/audio/ringtones
make sure the right files are in the right folders and delete your dups.

As far as pictures go, the camera saves pictures in /sdcard/DCIM/100MEDIA .

I move those out to /sdcard/pitures/camera(a folder I added) every so often.

You should be able to scan the card for media with your PC to find the locations of your clutter.

If you delete anything that is in use, the default action will be taken, and you can simply re-assign it.

Hope this helps
