I'm having a problem downloading anything from the Market.

I select a programme, go to download it and I get the status bar saying 'starting download' but nothing else happens, I don't get the notification at the top of the screen saying it's downloading, nothing.

Any ideas?

I have such issue every now and then. No idea, why, but eventually, it always start to download and install, as it suppose to.

here's the solution. go into your application manager.

clear the cache of gmail, gtalk, & market. reboot.

it'll work fine.

you will have to re-sign into gmail/market. so have your login info handy.

ok, last post said to go into application manager and clear caches...
not seeing where to do this, settings, applications, manage applications, only shows market, of the apps you say to clear, no gmail, no gtalk. Tried that anyway, only clearing cache of market, and no change, the downloads seem to start, but stop after several seconds, with the download unsuccessful message. This phone has been unable to download for several days now.

this is on a samsung moment on android 2.1

Have a look at this. It's pretty much what other people have said.

Marketplace download issue.

that looks to be unrelated, the downloads go to download unsuccessful within seconds, and this isn't in the UK anyway, it's US, email never was googlemail, always was gmail. Also I've not found the talk app that's mentioned there and in a previous post to try anything with, resetting cache, checking settings, etc.
