    Hi,

I have a question. I have never purchase an app from the market place but i've been thinking about it. The one thing that is on my mind is whether there is a central location that saves my purchased apps. The reason i ask is that i had to backup and move my data and apps from one phone to a replacement. I used a program called "mybackup". the program worked in a sense except that when i restored the apps to the new phone none of them were registered with the new phone on the apps store so i didn't get updates. I had to go to each app and select install which in a sense made the backup useless. So the question is two fold. Is there a way to have the market place re-install the apps that you have download and more importantly what about purchased apps. If i have to change phones is there a way to have my purchased apps remembered so that i dont have to re-purchase them? It seems like if google is so insistant on making the pc desktop obsolete that this is something that they would take care of in some form of cloud based application.

Google keeps track of the apps that you purchase. Therefore if you break or loose a phone your new phone only needs to be registered under the same email account to retrieve the paid apps at no additional cost.

Also your free apps that you previously downloaded will be in your Download section and you can simply down load them again ...

The only remaining issue is the settings for your apps ... those are not protected in the google cloud.

MyBackup Pro can save settings ... better yet is rooted phones with Nandroid backup and restore features ... you get and exact image of your phone and in minutes your phone is back to the exact state it was at the time of the backup.... Now there is a REASON to ROOT !!

I agree, the paid apps will still be there. The paid apps - um no so fast. I had to do a system reset and at first all my previously downloaded apps were there but as I started to re-download them, then my list was replaced with the apps I had re-downloaded and all my old apps were gone. I had to rack my brain to remember them and I lost a lot because they were games I downloaded to amuse my daughter and I don't remember them. Next time (if there is one) I'll make a list.

Don't you pay through google? If so, they have a record of the sale, as they do of my credit card. (Which means I have a record of it as well)
