This is driving me nuts and can't figure out how to stop it but, twice a day the Android market sends me a pop up/text asking me to check out some app. I have tried to look for some setting to stop them, but can't seem to find one. Anyone else getting these and figured out how to stop them? Thank you.

It's from the market. In fact, if you click on it, it takes you to the market. It happened again about a half hour ago for a dating site called Zoosk. I clicked on it and it took me to the Android market to download if I wanted to. This never happened on my Epic.

I did that. It's unchecked. That's what's really baffling me. If tha'ts supposed to stop them, they're still coming through.

I've never had this happen. Have you downloaded any apps from third-party sources (i.e., not the Market)? Is there any kind of pattern to the content of these ads, like all social media, or some games?

Hi I think I am getting the same problem.. since I downloaded something from the market a few weeks ago I've been getting this little white star shape in the top left hand corner.. when I click on it.. it either takes me straight to the android market or a google site. I have tried. Uninstalling all apps and unchecking things in market settings but its not worked. I also get about 2 or 3 a day. Soooo annoying
