I wasn't even aware it was released!

Either way, my carrier will be super slow to roll it out.

Installed it overnight with flash tool. I'll give impressions of it after a full day of use.

After a full day of using the Z2 running Android 6.0.1 I can say it's pretty good.

Stamina modes are gone and battery life seemed the same to me, even with the doze mode of marshmallow.

Other than the google now on tap feature, the only other obvious change is the way you can customise the home screens. Now you can choose more fancy transition animations but I was already using such things with Nova launcher.

Only big gripe so far is the new camera UI. I preferred the previous one myself and the camera UI has some lag now that wasn't there in the prior iteration. Hope they iron that out.

Over all a nice upgrade to marshmallow. The Z2 still has plenty of life in it.

Thanks for the review. Sounds good so far. I'll wait for it to be officially released in the UK and then go for it.

Cheers mate. It's good to see the Z2 still being supported.

Another con with the marshmallow update is that we can no longer transfer apps to sd card anymore, only photos, videos, etc.
The marshmallow adoptive storage feature is also unavailable on this phone so I hope in a future update they'll bring back apps to sd card option!

I'm not sure a free update can be considered a con, what are you being conned out of? You don't have to update. And, I understand that you can use the sd drive for apps, but you need to format it to stop it being used in other devices, as a security measure.

He is referring to pros (good) and cons (bad).
Lots of folks find plenty of "cons" When they update their devices. Remember that what one person considers a "con", another person may not.

We are allowed to find faults with Android lol

    What MLSS said :)

I didn't mean con as in a con job.

Just providing feedback for this forum.

Hi there, was wondering if you are experiencing BT issues after the upgrade - i.e. playing music, or while on a call? Thanks!!

No problems with Bluetooth. I've used it in my car with hands free Bluetooth for phone calls and played music over my soundbar using Bluetooth and haven't had a problem :)

I'm still waiting for MM to be released on EE/Orange. They still have no idea when it's going to be available (or, they dont give a sh!t about keeping customers informed of progress)

Same story here with my carrier. I think they just drag it out so people finish their contract and sign a new one with a new handset.
Our carrier hasn't even updated the Z5 phones yet!

Must correct myself here. I've since discovered that apps can be moved to sd card but in a different way than was done on lollipop. Now you have to do it app by app and not all can be moved (uber app for example).

I'm pleased I figured that out because the measly 16gb of storage was filling up real easy!

Having installed it a few days ago I have to say I'm underwhelmed. What's changed? Not a lot! No stamina but the battery seems to be about the same. No widely touted vertically scrolling app drawer (that appears to be an extra which you can use with earlier versions anyway). Hardly a 6.0, more a 5.3

I think if you install the google now launcher you can have the vertically scrolling app drawer.

It is underwhelming but stamina mode is apparently coming back. I believe the most recent firmwares for the Z5 phones have stamina modes back and hopefully this trickles down to the Z2.

Just install Nova Launcher and you can have the app drawer scroll vertically and it has many other options as well.

Yep Nova is a great launcher. Very customisable.

Yes, but nothing to do with marshmallow. Seems weird that one of the key features of mm is not actually part of mm
