my phone has mcafee, well my issues this, it updated, but it also places antivirus that if I do factory reset I had to do, I need a unlocking pincode, well, I didn't set a code, mcafee conveniently loses my information, and guess what, I'm treated so badly for my needing my pincode, I have all my billing info, I had everything to provide them, they stated since I was receiving it free they couldn't help me, then, they say if you buy mcafee we can help unlock it, heres what takes the cake, they lose my information, its nowhere, I am no one, and my phone, is now junk, can anyone please help me, I tried giving my account number/serial number/ everything, but they refused to take my information

Are you saying that you can't use the phone at all, or just can't use McAfee? If the latter, just uninstall it. This should not affect being able to use the device.

Then it looks like you will have to do a factory reset:

To perform a master reset using the hardware keys, follow these steps:

    1. Turn off the device.
    2. Press and hold the Power and Volume down keys on the back of the device.[IMG]
    3. When the LG logo appears, release and then re-hold the Power key while continuing to hold the Volume downkey.
    4. The Factory data reset screen appears.
    5. Press the Volume down key to advance the cursor until Yes is selected.
    6. Press the Power key to confirm.
    7. The Erase all user data and restore default settings screen appears.
    8. Press the Volume down key until Yes is selected.
    9. Press the Power key to confirm.
    10. The device restarts. Wait until the process is finished.

Visit your carrier for help (AT&T).
If it's an AT&T device, they should be able to help you regain control of your phone.

Highly doubt that they would (or even could) do anything. It's a device problem, not a carrier issue.

I believe AMOCO is correct. The only means I am aware of to get by a locked screen is to factory reset, PLUS wipe the (your) data that this (questionable) software is designed to protect.

    Why wouldn't they help?
The OP has an account w/AT&T & proof that he/she is the rightful owner of the phone.
    Also,in a way,it could partially be an AT&T problem,if the McAfee garbage is pre-installed & cannot be removed/disabled.
Whether AT&T technically has a responsibility to help the OP is debatable, but,I don't think they'd be so dismissive to just throw their arms up in the air saying "It's not our problem, you're on your own"............

YOU asked for help. Your problem is your fault (or McAffee's). Why anyone would even use this crap is beyond my comprehension. Several people have tried to assist you (out of pure kindness), and AMOCO provided you with a solution. Should you not accept the facts, I have no problem dismissing your issue altogether.

    Have a nice day.
