Just hopped over to a galaxy s2 from an iphone. All great so far just a few bits that I miss on the iphone that were useful.

One feature was that on the music player when you have played a track the little circle would disappear. Quite handy when you have a few different podcast subscriptions.

Are there any media players that offer this feature? I've tried winamp and dbplayer to no avail.

    Thanks

If you will only be using this media player app for podcasts only, you might want to look at BeyondPod. It does exactly what you want - mark items as "Read". It is not free, however, it has alot of neat features that allow it to be one of the best podcast related apps that I have used. Check it out here - BeyondPod for Android

Google Music shows play counts for each track. Not the same but similar.
