Memory card advice

I have had the same 16gb micro SD card since I got my OG Droid in June of 2010. I would like to get a 32gb card and transfer things over to it after I get it. More storage would be great!

Anyhow, there are many types out there. As in classes 1-10 or something? I have no clue as to what type of card to get. I know Verizon will charge too much (although I can get a 20% discount on accesories on my account, so that helps). How do I make sure the seller is legit so I don't get a 1gb card instead because of labeling fraud?

Anyhow I just want to be equally as good as this one. I haven't noticed any issues with it. Not sure I need to be convinced to "upgrade" to a better one.

Anyhow, those who know this stuff, lay it on me!

On the plus side, I just bought one, so I know a little bit.

On the down side, what I do know, I learned from poking around the internet, so, y'know, take it with a grain of salt.

This is the Wikipedia article about different types of SD cards. It explains the different speed ratings. This is the Wikipedia article about the RAZR. It says (citing a post in a developers forum) that 64GB SDXC cards are confirmed working in the RAZR.

My own personal philosophy was to get a 32 GB card -- more is always better, but since I'm only using about 5 GB, the 64 seemed excessive for my uses. I also don't need a particularly zippy writing speed on the card, as I'm not recording heaps of video, so I went with a 4.

Does it perform the same as the stock card in the phone? I am not sure if mine even says what it is. It doesn't sound like I need much more than 4 unless I do a lot of video, which I don't.

Just bought same one. Haven't installed it yet. On sale at radio shack. $27.99...$23.99 at target, but 3 stores here were sold out. I have a raincheck, but i was in Radio Shack for something else, so i picked it up there....

So far it does, yeah. I haven't made it do much, though. My old card was malfunctioning so it needed replacing -- all I've done so far is transfer everything to it, reboot the damn thing, and make sure my music and videos play. Which they do.

I'm trying to remember if my old card is the one that came with my OG Droid -- I'm pretty sure it is, but it's a 16 GB class 4, whereas wikipedia says they came with a 16 GB class 2. Whatever -- I assume from this that your original card is either a class 2 or a class 4 -- it wouldn't be anything faster.
