memory declining?

When I start my phone my memory is around 140mb.During the day I surf the web,check e-mail,etc.By the time I het home my memory is down to 40mb.Any ideas what causes this?I am using advanced task killer with very few apps.

i get that as well... when i use a few apps through out the day... i will use the task killer and it will free up some memory and then eventually i will just reboot and start fresh...of course everything seems to load up upon reboot soi will use the task killer about a minute after... i usually have between 150- 180 megs of memory available think i will try the app thetromlin2 suggested to see if the helps as well

Sounds like browser cache to me. You can go into your settings of the browser and set a size limit on the cache.

I just checked my cache settings its set to 6mbs.Deleted my cache and history and actually lost 10mbs.I'm not sure what's eating the memory.I will try that app here in a little while when I get a break here at work.Thanks for the fast reply.

go to android market and download "android system info" I find it very useful and you can go to the applications tab and click the manage button for each program and find the application that has all of the memory used up. Just be careful if you clear it, for you may end up having to re-setup that application.

I tried the apps with no luck im down to 47 mb,well thats what advanced task killer says.How accurate is advanced task killer?I'm getting different readings for memory on each app.I guess just restart the phone once a day or root it will solve the issue.

In that case then is due to how much is running on your system at once you will need 5o remove some apps or the task managers auto kill can help. i imagine tjat your battery life is also really bad.

I use auto kill with advance task killer every hour and it hardly kills anything because i only got like 8 apps or so.

I would use the android system info application to clear every application that you can safely clear. Then turn off the phone and then porwer it up. Also auto task killers can suck up memory.

It's a great program but just use it wisely for you can wipe out a programs settings and account info with it. A use that I like but may not be what you want in some casees.
