Message downloading message?

Anyone else get a text message that just says subject no subject. Downloading. Only nothing is actually downloading. I get this message sometimes when people send me picture messages but only on some of them.

Yes, and usually it won't download at all, no matter how much time you give it. That only happens on the stock messaging system. If you switch to some other SMS app, you usually have the choice to force a re-download.

So is this a problem with the phone, os, or network?

I don't know for certain, but it seems to happen on the Edge network, and in rural (or bad reception) areas. So it's likely tied to the admitted issues AT&T has with their GSM software on their towers. Supposely they are slowly rolling out fixes. Again, I'm speculating.
