Support message tone help for newbie

    Hi all,
    i am new to android after just purchasing a lg optimus gt540 to replace my iphone which had a swimming lesson.
    I am trying to install and use my own message tone but cannot find how to do it. i have managed to change ringtone to my own ok.
    Can anyone out there tell me how to do this? :)

    mobillo app has a ton of sounds you can dl and use. i think it is under menu>settings>sound & display>notification ringtone to apply the sound

    Just put the notification sounds to /sdcard/media/audio/notifications folder

    Apparently, Ringdroid lets you snip and set a file as a tone or notification tone, however I've noticed that even though I set mine, it always seems to revert back to the stock on. >.<

    You can install Rings Extended so you can select any sound for your notifications...
