Just another day using my awesome DHD...

and what do you know? My entire sms / mms inbox has disappeared.

Not a trace; it is as if I have never sent or received a text message yet.

Thinking my phone may have 'lost' the micro SD card, I check, and yes my photoes and videos are still loading.

New SMS are compiling as normal.

Perhaps I hit the internal limit and it cleared the memory. Setting are factory standard.

Roughly how many did you have? Open the stock app, hit menu, then settings, then general. There's an option to delete older messages when they hit a certain amount. Is that option ticked?

    Are you using 2.2.1?

'delete old messages' was not enabled. It was the entire history of messages since I got the phone in Jan-Feb. Just a once off delete for me as opposed to enelym18.
checking on OS version now... v 2.2

It was an issue in the 2.2.1 update, there was no fix, only backing up your SMS via one of the backup apps on the market, SMS Backup & Restore is a recommended one. They are gone now unfortunately :(

Enelym8, have you tried clearing the SMS app data & cache?
