I like my lg optimous but the only issue is the screen size, I have the samsung 4g the screen size is alot better than the optimous but i hate sliders, I am hopping they come out with some type of non slider htc, I would just go to another carrier to pick and choose from but i hate contracts and ads, Is their any way to find out what is next in line on the new phone they will be coming out with ?

Metro is supposed to come out with another LTE Android by "mid-year". Then at least 3, maybe 4 more by "end of the year". The CEO said in an investor's conference call they would have 5, possibly 6, LTE Androids in 2011. He gave the timeline: one in Feb/March (the Indulge), another by mid-year, with the remainder by "end of the year".

Over in another forum, inside people with Metro say these will be by Samsung, HTC, LG, and ZTE. Unless something changes, the "mid-year" one is looking like July/August -- which is really past mid-year. :( That would then leave 3 (or 4) more to be released Sept - Dec. You know they are going to stagger them, not just dump a bunch on the market in the same month.

Metro is also prepping other CDMA Androids like our Optimus -- so don't be faked out if you hear of a "new" Android at MetoPCS. Make sure it's one of the handful of LTEs.

My next purchase will be one of the new LTE Androids. I'm patiently waiting for more choices than just the Indulge which is flawed in many respects.

This is a post by Kayfabe from another forum. I'm reposting the info here.

The ones he knew were LTE he listed. But there's only 3 listed. Metro promised us 4, maybe 5, more LTE phones. He admits perhaps the HTC or one of the Samsung phones are also LTE. He just can't confirm that at this point in time.

i have the samsung indulge, after i got it rooted and customized it the phone is great, the only issue is battery like most lte, when in 4g alot of battery power is taken up, most lte phones have a toggle to turn lte global mode off, for whatever reason they didnt put a toggle to turn it for, but after i spent a day in the samsung indulge forum many differernt ways to turn it off, that is the only flaw i can really see the phone works great, and when you buy your 4g get ready for serious battery use because all lte use alot of battery power, but like you said the next phone that comes out i will look at all reviews before i puchase.

    Actually that is false.

When you say "most LTE phones" you realize there are only 4 being sold in the entire world, right?

    MetroPCS: Samsung Craft, Samsung Indulge

    Verizon: HTC Thunderbolt, Samsung Charge

At this point in time I am writing this, only 4 LTE phones in the entire world -- and only three of those are Androids. Only 3 LTE Androids on the world market right now.

So, which ones have this built-in LTE toggle, if any? Answer: none.

None have this built in toggle.

There are apps that have been developed to do this, but none are native to the phones.

And at least one of the apps does not work on Samsung Charge.

Now maybe you meant "4G" phones? There is a toggle switch in the Sprint's EVO and Epic Wi-Max phones. But not in any of the current LTE phones of which I am aware.

Youre correct in a way about not having a toggle, this is a hidden built in feature that does come with the phone, it works just fine for me to switch from global mode lte to cdma.
