i have been lookng to get another phone because the a21 that tracfone gave me just doesn't have the storage that i need. on my lg k20 i was able to move apps to the sd card but for some reason on the a21 when i tried to move the apps to the sd card only half dozen would move and work.

anyway i was looking on ebay to get a lg g7 or g8 and some of them are now saying they will not work on at&t but doesn't metro and at&t use the same networks gms? and if so it seems to me if the lg g7 is not usable on the at&t networks that it will not now work on the metro pcs networks also.
does anyone have some insight on this? also now i hear the lg is not a good phone? but the lg k20 i had worked really well, i had it on tracfone and i did not make many calls but it got wifi all over the place and it was fast enough for the games i played. but for some reason, tracfone said it was going away, and sent me the a21.

if i could figure out how to get the apps to work on the sd card the a21 might just work. i had to install an app the other day and had to delete 5 apps just to have room for it. so getting a 64 or 128gb storage is the best workaround. plus the photos.

    thanks

  2. While AT&T and Metro/T-Mobile are both GSM they are not the same network and use different bands, so it's possible a phone may work on one and not the other if it doesn't support the proper bands.
Also LG has left the phone business so while there may be support in the short term it's probably best to avoid them going forward.
You can use this site to check phone/network compatibility before buying-
    https://willmyphonework.net/
Make sure that any phone you are buying is the appropriate model for your country, especially if buying from Ebay or Amazon. For example if you are in the US and purchase an international model that was not made for the US market, it may have limited or even no functionality on the US networks.
As for storage, even if the phone allows you to move apps to the SD card it is a poor solution. Some of the app data may not move and will remain on internal storage, performance when running apps from the SD is slower than with internal memory, and using the SD card to run apps will greatly shorten its life because of the higher number of write cycles. It is very common for an SD card used in this manner to fail suddenly, taking your data with it. You will be far, far better off getting a newer phone with adequate internal storage.

thanks that is why i said i rather get a phone with more storage. even the photos work better on the phone storage than on the sd card. thanks for the info on lg. that may be why tracfone took it away because of the lg company going away and no support.

so maybe some can recommend a compatible phone. when i do VS app it tells me the lg ig about the best for all the benchmarks and the Motorola One 5G Ace is a close second. so can anyone tell me if the motorola one 5g ace would be a good phone for the metro network? i will stop looking for the lg brands being they are no longer supported, and that may be why so many are now on ebay.

    thanks

by any chance does anyone happen to know anything about the Rino7 Pro Android System 10.0 Smartphone Dual Sim 4G Mobile Cell Phones? are these any good or just cheap phones?

Since you're working with phones from different manufacturers that makes it a little trickier to find a reliable transfer utility. Most newer phones include a branded app that you can use to pull your data over from an old phone to the new one but a lot of them don't rely upon any kind of 'fixed' media storage, that is they require both devices to be using the same WiFi connection or be in close proximity to each other for a WiFi-Direct connection. So depending on your situation you might already have a viable data transfer option to use. You might also want to use Google's One app, it's more of a generic backup/restore service for Android that isn't brand/model specific. It uploads your phone's user account data up into your online Google account, then you install the One app into your new phone to download your data.

Don't be surprised if you lose some data for some otherwise third-party apps though. It's not 100% but still makes transferring a user account a lot less of a hassle when there isn't a more suitable alternative available. Also, it's only free up to the 15GB that's provided in your Google account. Only $20 a year for 100GB so it's not very expensive if you have a lot of data to transfer.

If you're still shopping around for new phone, with more storage, use the Phone Finder option in the gsmarena site:

side note, willmyphonework.net hasn't been updated in several years now so it's gradually becoming more and more obsolete. Bummer as it was handy resource back in its day. Try using this site instead:

thanks i don't have many issues getting my infor from one phone to another they all seem to have ways to do that. my question was because i'm running out of storage with the a21 it is 32gb. so i'm looking at the lg g7 or the lg g8 and the VS program says the lg is a good unit. but when i was searching ebay a lot of them were saying the lg g8 would not work on the at&t system. so because the t mobile/metro pcs uses the same gsm technology i was asking if anyone knows if merto is going to be dropping the lg phones?

i had a good working lg k20 on the tracfone service and this past january tracfone made me get a new phone because they stopped using 3g and that phone did not seem to have the lte either.

so i hate to get a phone that will soon be useless. that is why i ask here, to see if the lg phones are going away?

    thanks

    ocnbrze DON'T PANIC!!!!!!!!!

well LG is getting out of the cellphone business, so yes they will be going away. but they said that they will provide up to 3 years of android updates and 4 years of after sale service.

    https://www.engadget.com/lg-smartph...j-BGpJbENJYscfaX2BLvekiH82hMmjZkkA6qkLDnqrujr

so in a few years everything will be shutting down.

great thanks.i did firgure out how to block unwanted calls on the a21 finally. i guess it was so hard because i di not get many calls. but i do not like getting the same scammer all the time so i block them.

now to see if i can figure out how to merge the sd card into the a21 phone's internal memory. the k20 i have does the easy but i have yet to find this on the a21.

it looks like the lg will be served by lg for a few more years according to their website. so i may just get a g7 if i can't make this a21 phone have more memory. thanks
