I never really notices until recently, but my phone gets pretty warm/hot within ten minutes of light use and internet browsing.

At first i thought it was the faux kernel so I restored my backup but it still runs hot. I turned off everything that could cause it to heat up but hasn't helped much. I don't know if i need to flash a different rom (currently on AOKP) or if its a hardware issue or if i'm simply over reacting. Maybe I damaged the battery messing around with the voltage settings.

I understand that is a thin phone with a lot going on under the hood so its going to run warm.

Playing subway surfer for longer than 10 minutes causes it to over heat and reboot

Honestly that sounds like a hardware issue. You can try flashing the roms to be sure, and try the stock ics firmware to be sure.

Been running AOKP for about 2 months now and no over heating at all. I hope you figure it out.

    Good Luck! Keep us posted!

I did a hard reset and the kind of worked. Doesn't reboot anymore but it gets warm while charging and sits around 30-40c.

whats the normal or acceptable temperature for a galaxy s3.
