theres no way to make a sch-r530m run on t-mobile network. i think ur confused with whats going on. i believe your mother discontinued the family service on metro pcs. if so no matter what rom you use on the sch-r530m u wont have service till she reactivates the service.

You switched to tmobile with the same S3?

If so I think your mom might be confused with the merger because you cant use our model on tmobile.

Well when I went to tmobile they put a sim card in it to see if my s3 is compatible with it and she said it was so we switched ...

thats what im thinking. i think she bought the sim cards from tmobile thinking she could use them on the metro sch-r530m which will not work since the sch-r530m variant is programmed to use a uicc card and not a gsm sim card. if this is the case we would very much encourage you and your mother to join us and learn more with us before doing such things.

lol so compatible that your not getting any service. keep in mind dealer are dumber than a bag of rocks. just cuz a sim card fits doesn't mean it will work. keep in mind the sch-r530m using two radios one for calls 1x/3g and the Lte radio for 4g data.

i know exactly what happened. you had a service agent that didnt have a damn clue and took your uicc out and put a sim in and saw you still had service etc. now that your number has been ported to t mobile you no longer have an active cdma device on metro so its been cut off :p

Damn so what then? i cant use tmobile with it? even if i unlock it?

Look for someone who might want to trade. A tmobile variant for your. Put up an ad on Craigslist or here in the forums.

Or just tell the damn dude who switched you over he ****** up and he needs to fix it somehow.

No u the merger was to give us current users more Lte coverage in more places and faster Lte but not use a cdma phone entirely on a gsm network. You guys keep confusing the whole concept of the merger. You gotta ask why did metro release two metro gsm phones instead of cdma. The answer is metro wants to evolve into a gsm network by 2015 our existing cdma phones even those that have Lte will soon be obsolete! With that being said no cdma phone will have all features on a gsm network. We will be able to experience faster 4g for a while but after that it's either hop on the metro gsm wagon or be left behind. In conclusion tmobile reps scored with selling ya useless sim cards and charging ya first month. If people were more aware of this forum and asked their questions here we would be more than willing to answer them. But very few ever even bother asking here and instead find out the hard way.

If you read what I wrote, I already said I'm not sure and I don't know about it but I think I heard, that means may or may not, that is what I said I didn't say he can flash it for sure. Read and try to understand what people trying to say before you quote or assume they wrong.

Wrong place for a joke when someone is in desperate need of help in such a situation. By doing so your just adding to confusion. I'm sure you understand.

If you read what I write I already said I'm not sure and I don't know about it but I think it heard, that is what I said I didn't say he can flash it for sure.

Unsure statements also adds to the confusion and all he did was assured you that it was not possible.

Bottom line gentz it's not possible to use our sch-r530m variant with a gsm network cept the lte that tmo is providing us with but that's data nothing more. And when I state the specific model of the gs3 that's because I'm aware of the gsm model of metro gs3 which has been released in a few markets. Those would be best bet to use on tmobile not sure if it needs to be unlocked but perhaps not. Anyways. I hope op's question has been answered if any more questions please assist him without any sarcasm any jokes or any misleading statements. We all enjoy a few jokes here and there but he really needed to understand what was done wrong and why it won't work.
