My recommended settings to use on a daily basis.

For optimal performance and battery life...

    • interactive or intellidemand governor
    • 1.2ghz under normal usage and 1.4ghz when needed
    • 384 mhz min
    • cfq scheduler

I flashed it and it works, I just dont know how to access the OC settings or governors because it is not in the same place as my previous phone.

You have to use an OC app like SetCPU

    - Working as posted. Thanks, hope you haven't given up on a ROM yet.

    - Anyway to add the Knock-knock/DoubleTap2Sleep feature to this Kernel?

Is there any chance you would be turning this into a debloated rom?

Been working perfectly for over a week. Played with governors and speeds, all I've tried have been stable.

Update...I discovered that this breaks the LTE2/l1m recovery touch app. I can't get into recovery. I have to literally install the MS659C version from scratch and start over just to get to my nandroid backups. I have done this now twice. After the kernel is applied the LTE2 app works once or twice and then never again, it simply reboots the phone, never into cwm recovery.

Bootloader still locked. Have to use loki to bypass bootloader like the motion and spirit.

You know after you install the recovery using that app, a perfect method that works for me to get into recovery is by using a button combo. Not the regular one that factory resets... Apply the recovery, then manually turn off the phone. Then hold power. As soon as it shows the LG logo, start tapping the home button a lot and quickly, and it should boot you into the recovery that the app applies. Cwm that is.

I did try it twice, as well as a couple other variations that I read about but none seemed to work. When I get my new SD card I will try it again. Does it matter that my phone is still locked? Thanks for the feedback.

Here's the actual button combo for 2nd-init recovery that was confirmed by someone that has actually worked on this recovery...

Toggle the volume buttons up and down repeatedly when the LG logo appears to get into recovery. Sometimes it works right away and sometimes it takes a few tries. The 2nd-init recovery was made for the LG Spirit so it has trouble working with custom kernels on other phones.

I'm able to get into 2nd-init recovery without much hassle, but if you're having too much trouble then I recommend sticking with the stock kernel. This is the way it's always going to be with this phone unless a working cwm recovery is made for it which isn't going to happen.

Does this kernal support the TMobile version of the F3 or just the Metro-PCS? Is their a significant difference between the phones?

I built this kernel using the metro pcs source code. I don't know if it works with t-mobile. Someone told me it doesn't.

Umm...well I guess it matters what your perspective is. I bought the T-Mobile version but I never was able to get a copy of the original P659a stock ROM. I did not know about the CWM recovery when I rooted the phone so I had no way to make a nandroid backup. I found the metro PCS version, installed it and then updated to MS659C and then found the cwm recovery. Everything I normally use works fine. My plan doesn't include WiFi calls and I use FoxFi for tethering if I need it. The kernel worked fine but I could never get any recovery method to reliably work so I am back to a rooted MS659C ROM on a T-Mobile P659 phone.

I've flashed this onto my T-Mobile LG F3, and it doesn't brick the phone or anything, but it isn't working as expected. One thing I noticed is that all non-standard governors cause the CPU to spike to 1600 and stay there, regardless of the load (checked via SetCPU app). Then, whenever you do use a standard governor, like Interactive, the max it will go to is 973, regardless of load. If there is anything I can do to help further the development of this, let me know :).
