Here are three complaints about MetroPCS's voicemail in the San Francisco Bay Area:

1. To hear the new messages, the user must press "1". This means on an Admire one must drag up the digital keypad. Can the menu be set to auto play new messages ?

2. There is still a five minute to four day delay before new voice mail notification flag appears on the phones. This has been a problem with Metro for years and on six different Metro cell phone models. Metro has been aware of this problem for years. Do other carriers have this issue ?

3. If one skips messages (purposefully) the red flag showing new messages reappears, even though there a no new messages.

The only improvement in the voice mail is that pressing 4 discloses the caller ID.

so when you're not in the san fransisco bay area you dont have to do this?

Have no idea about other MetroPCS areas voice mail. Just indicated SFBA because that's were I am. Haven't been in other MetroPCS areas. But it needs improvement here.

This is gonna be the same no matter what location you're in as it has to do with how voice mail is set up.

Don't know about the pressing 1 thing as I get my messages through visual voice mail.

The lag is probably native to the hardware of the admire as I don't get such a delay when receiving or viewing voice mail.

The lag is in the VISUAL notification on the top left emblem area. Anyone else know how to simply hear new messages without pressing #1 ?

He's talking about metro visual voicemail, which is an app that lets us see our vm as text and can play audio if we choose. It came with the connect not sure about the admire.

I also have that problem with pressing the 1 when calling in manually it's annoying as hell.

i have metro pcs in so. cal and have had the same experience with voicemail delays. this time it was 6 days and seven messages that werent there the day before. two of the messages were marked urgent! it just happened last week and when i called metro they said they were sorry for the inconvenience and that was all. i asked if they had any idea why and they said they had no reports of anything wrong. i know they still wont have because im sure they didnt report my problem either! so... anyone calls they can still say they have no reports... dont know what to do about it but change carriers i guess.

Im in SoCal and have none of these problems.

I get a voice mail notification instantly. I tap it, it dails voice mail and the newest message automatically plays.

Ive had the ascend, droidX, and now the S3.

I think there is an option in the voicemail settings to set it up to where it auto plays.

edit: didnt notice the op was from last year -__-'

Have you tried filing a report about the voicemail notification delay? I read in another thread how someone filed a formal report about it. It was a network issue and took the technicians a few weeks to work on it, but in the end they got it resolved.
