    Hello,

    My wife's phone suddenly stopped allowing people to hear her on a phone call. It doesn't matter who initiates the phone call, she is never heard.
    So I have been scouring the Internet for possible fixes and this is what I have so done so far with no luck in fixing the issue;
    -I ran the phone in safe mode and attempted to call and make a voice memo with no luck.
    -tried disabling "okay Google" voice activation.
    -disabled the phone call voice answer option.
    -I have even tried doing a factory reset and still no luck.
    The only thing that makes it so people can hear her is when she activates the speaker. Then it's like nothing is wrong.
    Please help I'm at a loss for more troubleshooting possibilities.

    What phone is this? Sounds like a problem with the mic hardware. Speaker mode AFAIK activates a second mic on the phone, supposedly for noise cancelling, but since it's the only mic left its possible it's being used for recording. So looks like hardware damage and needs to be physically repaired.
