Will any Micro SD card work?
I want to use a 16gb one if possible.
Probably. I have an 8 gig in there right now.
16gb will work just fine.
what's the best deal on a 16gb microSD card right now? I'm seeing $60... Too much money.
You have GOT to be kidding me!
I picked up an 8 gig micro SD for $24. Seemed like a good deal. I figure I will upgrade to 16 gigs, when they drop down under $50. Honestly, I plan to load music on it, and 2 or 4 gigs of music is fine, which leaves plenty of other room for toys.
60 bucks for 16 gigs?! holy hell WHERE
you do realize you can go on ebay and get a 16gb quite cheap
i found a 4gig on amazon for like 8 bucks. i'm always sketchy when i see a good deal like that LOL i always thing i'm just gonna get a lil piece of cardboard or something...
If you have a Micro Center nearby you, they have the memory cards pretty cheap. I picked up a 8gb from them today.
for how much?
Man i really wanted to go pickup a 16gb card, but it almost seems useless to me. i dont use the G1 for music or videos...only apps and some misc data like wallpapers and all. Seems like overkill to me.
I want one.......but probably won't go for a 16 yet. I have several 2gb cards and am ordering an 8gb from the link above. I would really like to have a 32, but will wait for prices to come down and make sure it will work in a G1...
class 6? it's there anything faster or it shouldn't matter?
i ordered a 8 gig class 4 for 20$. havent gotten it in yet, but friend says that his phone lags with his 8 gig :X
Maybe some people want to use the phone as their PMP... I certainly do.
Post all the websites where you found your 16gb for a cheap price....
:now whats considered cheap, under $90 please.... Thank You

ever since i got the update, my PC sees there's something in the USB port but it won't open any files
i just got a 4 gig micro sdhc and it won't transfer..nothing with transfer! halp!
Just curious if anyone knows, for certain, what throughput the microSD card slot supports? Meaning - will G1 users benefit from a Class 4 or Class 6 card, over the cheaper Class 2 counterparts? Obviously, faster is better... if, and only if, the device is poised to take advantage of it. If read/write speeds from the card aren't the bottleneck, then... ?
I got a Kingston SDC4/8GB 8GB Class 4 Micro Secure Digital High-Capacity Card (Black) for $22.39 from Amazon today. Don't plan to use much of it. Not sure what class 4 means. Maybe someone could explain?
Works fine. Just copied all three folders off old one to my Mac, then back onto new one. All is well.
The manual doesn't explain how to access USB correctly, I found.
After I connect, I get a notification in top of screen. When I pull that down, click on it and choose MOUNT all works well.
Hope that helps...
Class = speed
Class 2 - slow
Class 4 - medium
Class 6 - fast
