Hey I just got a sg4 a week or two ago and all was fine, right up until my micro sd card kept removing itself and remounting... then suddenly my phone would not recognise it anymore with no warning mesages. The micro sd if fine to my knowledge, being able to use it on my computer, even running a scan, to which it came back clean. I even hit the format button on the phone when I first got it. I'm running with a 32 gb class 10 lexar, so am I just blatently missing the obvious or is this a serious problem (eg: hardware problem)

Micro sd cards can be strange acting little animals.. and we've seen higher class versions being complained about just as much as cheapos from Walgreen's.
The only time I encountered an issue, I did not even bother to investigate; I just replaced it. Two reasons I did that: 1. As a way to find out if in fact it was the card itself with the issue, and 2. To find out if in fact it was the card itself with the issue.
In other words, replacing the card for 30 bux was worth it as a quick troubleshooting method.
Some cards will become corrupted in a way that they function fine off and on, rather than just crap out for good or even just show the same symptoms more than once. You can scan and re-format and put it in the device and have it work for a long time, then see the symptoms again.
I treat sd cards as being the most expendable part of these devices, with the battery and SIM card coming in a tie for a close 2nd place.
If the new card malfunctions too, try a factory data reset.

MicroSD cards have a tiny controller that communicates the read/write functions to the storage portion of the card. Given its size, you can imagine that there's not an awful lot of solder holding them together. Even a slight bump to your phone at the right angle can cause it to dislodge and although your data will be intact, it will be unreachable. Will probably cost you over $100 to send it somewhere and have your data extracted. If it's weirding out, don't take a chance - copy your data and replace the card ASAP! Otherwise, before you know it, it's just going to crap out completely - ask me how I know (more than once).

You are opening a whole new can of worms there. I have never had issues with the SanDisk Ultra cards but there were some bad batches that have made people shy away. Others prefer the class 10 cards from Samsung.
I would suggest looking for class 10 cards on Amazon and getting the one with the best reviews in your price range.

Earlier this month, I got a 32gb Sandisk Ultra Class 10 at Best Buy on sale for $25 - I don't know if the sale is still on, but worth checking

I have seen a lot of problems reported with the SanDisk 32GB and 64GB micro SD cards but I haven't seen any reported with the Samsung ones. I have just ordered myself a 64GB card and I opted for Samsung as being the safe option.

You can indeed.
There are various ways you can do that but sadly none of them as simple or elegant as iTunes, a Mac and an iPhone.
The way I have chosen to do it, which I think is the easiest is to use an app called iSyncr, which is
If you have a PC, you can sync with Windows Media Player. Or, you can just create a music folder in on the SD card and drag/copy the mp3 files to the folder.

Thanks. My "problem" is that I have a Mac with Mountain Lion and iSyncr is not yet recommended for it.

Ironically, iSyncr, which has worked fairly well for me for two years has started to misbehave so perhaps you aren't missing anything after all.
My experience of trying to synchronise anything at all between my Mac and my two Android phones has been a complete and utter pain in the bum. Nothing works properly and I have had to resort to a hodge podge of different applications that don't integrate with each other or even work.
I use SyncMate for contacts and calendar but that's rubbish and I have numerous duplicate calendars and calendar entries. I use iSyncr for my music but that has just stopped working properly. I use Titanium Backup Pro for my backups and, while that does work well, it's one of the ugliest programmes I have ever used and is far from easy to understand (although it is very powerful). I have had such a negative experience syncing between my phone and my Mac that I daren't even try to sync my photos or videos - God knows what would happen if I did.
Oh iTunes, I miss you. Will you take me back :frown:?

I read somewhere that Sandisk had a bad batch late last year, but they have corrected that & offered free exchanges to anyone that got a bad one. I suspect that's why they have been having good sales on them. I have always used Sandisk almost exclusively and haven't had any problems (except for the couple times I dropped my phone). Each his own though....

Interesting. I bought a Sandisk Ultra 32GB last December, and it is currently dead. Tried two phones and a computer and they all agree it's dead. Might have to check into this.
