Well the title says it all, did any of you guys/gals tried to use a micro-USB to HDMI cable to try and get tv-out of higher quality than current component cables?

I know some Samsung phones had that option(usb to HDMI) and I know android OS supports it, but many companies have been known for blocking this option however. Samsung themselves even offered the cable, but it is now out of stock.

Also, does anyone know where to get this cable for less than $30+? I would try it out but that price just seems like a rip-off!

Plus does anyone know where the restriction the manufacturer puts on micr-usb to hdmi video output is located at? (in the android OS parameters)

Ahh awesome, big thanks to you.
So it seems that this phone is good to go with micro-usb to hdmi. As long as we can find a place where to buy them! haha

So now if anyone can find a spot with at least $10-15 cable I would get one. IF you do find out, pelase share!

Any details on this however? Is the actual quality any better than the component cables?

The cables that go into the 3.5mm jack aren't component; they're composite + RCA sound (post #3 of the TV-out thread). Not HD, so the HDMI would definitely be an improvement.

Nice find. Store/site's rated pretty well, too (though there are only 59 reviews total... heh).

That cable is no go... the other end is not a micro-usb...

I called that site though and they are going to check it for me. They said they deal with major distributors.

From that other post the part # is : ECC1U0BBEBSTD

Seems like every freaking place is out of that cable... insanity.

If that guy from the above website ever gets back to me then I'll let you all know what he said.

$50 per cable is worse than rape'ge from monser cable company!:p The cable costs 50 cents at most to produce. We need to send request to China-land for these...we will see them in a week then probably. lol

I'm starting to wonder if there is regular or mini USB to HDMI that is available and then we could use a mini to micro converter or something like that... still seems too much trouble.
    Hopefully this will turnout well.

Until someone confirms that any of these work, the cost is not really relevant.

Those are mini displayport ends, not micro usb. They would not work.

The online shop guy just sent me a message and said they have arrived...

    Here is the link...
TV-Out Cable (Micro USB to HDMI), HDMI cable out/ Micro USB in, HDMI cable Samsung ECC1HU0BBEB/ ECC1HU0BBEBSTD: Samsung Galaxy S video phones with Micro USB output for HDMI and Samsung Spinpoint M series Samsung factory original HDMI cable for micro
Not much better than samsungs price but at least they have them in stock...
Someone should buy this and see if it works lol
Or you all can contribute a dollar or something and I will buy it myself for testing. I'll put in $5 lol

I also posted this on XDA forums

If we get enough moneys to order one to test it do you guys want me to ask for a group buy to see if they will lower that price at least a bit until the Chinese knock-offs arrive(hopefully)? I just can't see anyone buying that 10 cents worth of plastic and metal and cost that much...
