I flashed mikg2.42 with the golden momkey 1.1 kernel and love it. I went to try and mirror it last night and it would not work. It kept saying cable unplugged or whatever on the HDMwIn application. Will this kernel not support it ?

nope you need a special kernel to run that app. teamwin has not updated the kernel to run this app yet. once that happens then more custom kernels will incorporate hdmi mirroring into their kernels.

any froyo roms and kernels have support for this. also gingerbread aosp roms should work as well. just not gingerbread sense roms yet. i believe they are working on it.

Is the mirroring all in the kernel? I was under the impression that since MikG is basically an Evo Shift port, that HDMI mirroring isn't available.

I think it depends on both the kernel and rom. I dont believe you can mirror on any mik roms right now though. I mirrored the cm7 rom last night with no issues.

you are correct that mikg is a port but the mirroring is done through an app made by teamwin. and a kernel is needed to help run the app. most gingerbread aosp kernels have this support added and netarchy toastmod (froyo sense) kernels also has support for it as well. currently we have no gingerbread sense kernels that offer this support, but i believe that they are working on it.

OK, that answers that! I have the HDMwIn app and have used it in the past, before switching to MikG 2.xx. I had thought that the kernels with mirroring capabilities were just building off of the native mirroring in the Evo stock software. This is good news, as I won't have to switch to something like Fresh in order to mirror with GB. Nothing against Fresh, his rom is running on my wife's Evo, but I really like Mik and his updated Sense roms.
