I have the desire, had it over a month now. Its unlocked but using t-mobile sim card.

The wife got her desire yesterday, locked to vodafone (i think need to try), but has a vodafone sim in it.

She can see apps that I cant in the market .... google earth being one of them

Whats going on ? Anyone know ?

I'd love to know an answer to this too. I've had a sim-free unlocked desire (bought from Handtec) since it first came out and last week my colleague bit the bullet and ordered himself one from the same place. Since I've had mine I've noticed that certain apps (google earth being one of them) that people were talking about were unavailable to me, yet his arrived yesterday (already had the new firmware from the weekend on it) and he can access google earth!? I've already grabbed the firmware update and was hoping that would fix it but I still can't find earth in the market which makes me wonder how many other apps I'm missing out on :(

    Any ideas folks?

Yeah, I can't see earth either. Mine is an unbranded and unlocked Desire

I couldn't see Google Earth on mine either, even after the OTA update.....then it suddenly appeared last night

No idea why. As a work around you could install earth. Astro file manager backs up free apps. Browse to backups on sd card and email the earth .apk file to your wife and she can install ftom that

Just an update for anyone else who might look in this thread - my phone is now showing earth in the market place! Guess someone somewhere flipped a switch :)
