So, when I flashed A3OPTh30ry I really fell in love with the MIUI camera. I was wondering if anyone still had the Asoptheory rom that I could download and pull the .apk for the camera from...Or am I totally trying this wrong?

    Thanks will be given! ;)

I can just flash this, correct? Because it doesn't work with a flash. Hrm.

Yup, extremely simple, install the apk. Delete the stock camera apk. Good to go.

I keep it in dropbox for that very reason. I can't go back to the HTC camera.

I still haven't been able to get this working correctly. Not sure why.

The MIUI Camera.apk will not install. It just says "not installed" in astro. Frustrating. The gallery worked, though.

Now, do I have to ADB uninstall the Gallery and regular camera.apk's?

Honestly all I've ever had to do is download and install the apk from dropbox. Move it to system/app in Root Explorer, delete the stock camera apk, and rename the MIUI camera, 'Camera.apk' and that's it.

All done on the phone, I've never done anything with the gallery.

You should either ADB push the Camera.apk to system/app or use a file manager like root explorer and replace the camera.apk with the miui one, fix permissions so it is like all the other system apks and reboot.

Fix permissions in CM7 settings, recovery, or in the root explorer?

Well I did it in recovery and root explorer. So woohoo.

I have got to say, it is a great feeling to mess around with your phone, and learn adb on a mac (slightly different) and to mess around fixing things that you broke earlier in the day. Thanks for the help guys! I found a whole new universe again with some things!

Just root explorer is needed for changing permissions

DT also has a recovery flash zip for the miui camera. That is what I use.
