Ok, so I got brave last night and tried to flash MIUI to my Evo. It seemed to work but most of the apps were missing, I finally found the market app and was able to use the ROM Manager to go back to the previous ROM (a stock 2.2 rom with root access). Is it normal to have to completely download all the apps all over again or did i miss a step? I saw something about loading Google Apps when I was reading about MIUI, am I supposed to do that,if so how?? Thanks in advance.

Go to your previous nandroid and download titanium backup from the market. backup your apps with tb. flash miui again or goto a miui nandroid. Again download tb and restore apps + data. Just make sure that you are not restoring system data. Otherwise of you do you will get a lot of errors.

Not sure on MIUI but is there a Gapps file to flash along with the Rom or is that included in the rom?

Dumb question... Which apps do I back up? Do I only backup the apps that i want or do I have to back everything up? Sorry but I'm really new at this, its my first time flashing a ROM.

just backup the stuff that you want. but id avoid backing up the data esp if youre going from sense to aosp or senseless (i.e. CM7, miui, everevolv etc etc)
and the only dumb question is one that you dont ask, provided that youve already looked for the answer yourself :) if you dont look for an answer first, you might get a smart alec (such as myself) posting a link to lmgtfy.com LOL happy rooting good sir!

Everyone else has been using the same Gapps file that the CM7 guys are using with the flashable VVM. It's listed on the download page as a MIUI add-on, along with the CM7 camera and a link to FullHDMI (see post #2)
