I have MIUI XJ and have downloaded some custom lock slider themes from here.

I pu them in the correct place on my SD card and wen into Theme Manager and applied the theme. When i change the theme however my lock slider remains as the standard MIUI XJ one, and won't change off of this.

Is there another setting I need to change to allow me to change the slider?

    Any help much appreciated. Thanks.

Dont just leave it on the sd card try moving it to "themes" before applying it directly from "edit theme settings"

    Here is the step:

put the mtz file in.. sd card/MIUI/themes

then on your phone go to menu/settings/personal/themes/edit theme settings/lockscreen

you'll find the lockscreen there. Simply apply it.. Done!

I had it in the right place, just I didn't have the right ROM...

That was only for MIUI xD MIUI XJ doesn't have support for Custom Lock screens yet. Or if it does I couldn't find the Update :D

I put MIUI on instead, very happy with my custom lock slider.

Really? Well I tried everything with MIUI XJ and it wouldn't work. Installed normal MIUI without changing anything on the SD card, and it installed without a glitch.

Whats normal MIUI? I have 2 themes running on my phone and that hasnt affected adding custom lockscreens. Which ones did you try adding?

Ahh I see. Its really strange Mark Huk's MIUI works for you cos alot of peeps esp me reported various problems on it. Meanwhile XJ's rom has been running flawlessly for me and it certainly has been getting rave reviews from alot of folks on XDA. I guess you phone just refuses to play nice with XJ's version....

EDIT: It just occured to me you may be on old version?? Are you on latest v1.7.1?

Well I've been running XJ happily since the start of June. This is the first issue I've had with it. I'm gonna try this for a while and see if I like. If no then I may try Redux or something :)

OK. Let me ask you another Q. Does the lockscreen show up in the "theme" section at all?

Yeah it did. I was attempting to change just the lockscreen, however when applying the theme it just returned to the default lock slider.

Perhaps the lockscreen you downloaded was faulty.. Redownload it and try again?

I've switched to the MIUI ROM from the MIUI website now, and I'm using the exact same download and it's working

If tomorows release doesnt fix tha problem on XJ MIUI Id suggest you to head over to xda and post your problem cos XJ gives brilliant support compared to Mark Huk over at MIUIandroid...

Woke up this morning and as you said, MIUI had an error... already! Extremely disappointed with it, it mixed all my widgets up after ONE restart. Gah.

Went back to MIUI XJ but decided I needed a fresh start, so downloaded the 1.7.1 version and installed from fresh. Working great :D The custom slider is working now as well. No idea what the problem was :/

I may try Miui just for the lock screen and status bar. I'll still run go launcher though.

    MAY.

Also considered trying a Sense 3.0 rom, but I am really proud of my huge data partition right now.

Haha Been eyeing up MIUI lately eh? Thought it wasnt to your taste! ;) Alot has changed since you last tried it.. MIUI has simply moved onto another level it keeps on surprising me every week! Not only you can change lockscreens and status bars you can even add extended setting mod found on MIUI forum. It gives you option you to hide carrier name, clock, battery and usd debug. I could go on n on.....

Forgot to mention there is another cool mod that allows you to add app launcher on MIUI without losing the features of MIUI launcher. Havent tried it myself but apparently it works well.....
