I am not able to send or receive picture messages for some reason. I am connected to WiFi but also have great 4G coverage (in LA, not in a fringe area). I am using the stock app as well. Not rooted, not running Nova. Totally stock.

Try disabling WiFi and turning airplane mode on and off. If that does not work reboot the phone with WiFi off. It seems that the GNex has difficulty switching data connection modes.

there are multiple threads in here talking about this.

I also have the same problem and it sucks. I think there are hand off issues between the radios. Hopefully it will get fixed in a future update when the new radios come out.

Thanks for the responses guys. I got it to work just by turning WiFi off...maybe it needs to just be connected to the mobile data network to go through.

it does. MMS and SMS send and receive through the mobile data connection. They will not send through wifi. That is what leads me to believe that there are hand off issues. Meaning when the phone needs to swap from Wifi as primary connection to Cell radio to send an sms or mms it has a problem doing that efficiently.

So even when it's connected to WiFi source, should it automatically turn on mobile data connection to transmit MMS, SMS temporarily?
