Can't send picture messages or receive em' regular texts work fine already tried calling Sprint-no help

Stock message app or alternative like chomp or handcent? What error do you get? Any other symptoms? Any apps related to SMS or MMS installed ?

Need more to go on...

I actually have both stock and the handcent app., which I uninstalled there was no error message it just wouldn't send em out n in some cases it would hours later. Sprint told me it could've been low reception bars but it would work fine with sms texts. And this morning I tried with the handcent app uninstalled and it seemed to work fine.but I would like the app back just worried it'll mess up my hero

I use Handcent exclusively with no problems. In fact handcent will resize the 5megapixel camera image to MMS size so you don't have problems sending.

Well I'm gonna try n re-install it now n see if in fact it. Was the signal strength thank u

chomp added the MMS feature as well now, and they compress the image for you too!

Over on PPCGeeks, we have been tracking MMS issues on the Hero as well.. Basically I can never recieve MMS messages, I call sprint, they change something on their system, I recieve one or two MMS messages, and then it breaks again. I am convinced its something on their system.

PS - Make sure your Wifi is not connected when you send or try recieve picturemail. It will cause errors.

my mms wasnt sorking til i installed the latest firmare....if you havent done that try it. it used to say "download" and then do nothing. now it works.

I am fully updated. It still says downloading. I have called sprint, they have said there are things missing from the settings on my account which they fix, and they it breaks again 1-2 messages later, ON THEIR SIDE, not mine.

I fully expect this issue to become more widespread.
