Help MMS/WiFi issue

Using Handcent, when I receive a MMS (text and picture) I only get the header if connected to WiFi. When I click the download button either the download does not take place or I get a message saying download could not proceed.
If I turn off WiFi the MMS downloads immediately via 3g.
Also, when downloading an app from Market, often the download will not occur until I switch the WiFi off then back on again but this does not occur all the time, sometimes the download proceeds normally.
Any suggestions?

Maybe your Mobile Network provider only allows downloading MMS over the Network. My network {Vodafone UK} says they only accept retrieving MMS via the Network {Don't know why but that's a possibility of your issue}

And with the apps on the Market , Maybe your Wifi is not reliable while connecting to your Android hence will not download?
