droid-life.com said its a known issue with the tiny KB
*Droid X and 2 users, see note after instructions. (Some DX users are seeing miniature versions. Again, MAKE A BACKUP.)
I'm quite interested in the statistics here, so I'm gonna start a poll, please vote.
Is your keyboard small or the same as the screenshots?
small im gonna change my density ill get back to you in a minute
ahh i dont have stock fonts installed
I am running rubiX 1.9, I dont use LCD Density Changer, and I have a small keyboard!!
Could be that, bc I am running 2.3.15
ok heres a trick im doing a write up right now to fix it
is you have a small keyboard do this
-download the free lcd density app from the market for root users.
-set the density to 300 apply/restart
-set the density to 260 apply/restart
set the density to 240 apply/restart
voila its back to normal
cool, please share!
Hey fab 2 things. Wanted to say thanks for putting this in a zip for us and also thanks for putting a back to stock zip up there for those of us that it doesn't work for. I tried it and really like the look its just not functional for mine cause it was the small one. Back to stock for me until the kinks are figured out. Thanks again for putting the back to stock zip up on the op
I can confirm that fix works, although I don't have the "Settings" button on mine.
Mine's the correct size... of course I'm running the world renown ApeX 1.2.1 rom.
fab maybe add those directions to your original post? did anyone else do it?
hold down the microphone then cliock settings then show setting key then always show
I figured that out like before you said it, haha.
I'll update the first post with the fix as soon as I get home. Even I need to eat
fab i can has gingerbread theme?? lol
Yeah this fix worked for me as well.
I tried changing the build props by hand (in root explorer) first and rebooted the phone after each change but that didn't take for me.
Downloaded a free density changer that "soft reboots" (no m logo just straight to boot animation) after each apply and that worked like a champ
So how is this compared to the MT kb?
Does this fix survive a reboot...?
fix worked! now someone create a gingerbread theme for roms!
I think mine installed with the keyboard size correct, however the keys just seem smaller than the ones that come with the default Apex ROM, is that correct? The keyboard on Apex is IMO the best keyboard I have ever used. So I guess it is just not for me.
The fix worked for me. Very cool.
