Support Moment Screen Turns Off

    While typing a text message or navigating the screens to open an app, the moment goes to lock mode. All settings are set to keep the phone on for a signifiant period of time. Very frustrating to be typing a text message and have to unlock the phone mutiple times.

    Anyone have any ideas what is wrong?

    I noticed this only sparingly (and I do mean sparingly) the first few weeks I had my Moment. A reset (should) set things straight. That's usually the first thing to do when problems arise.
    Just for our knowledge, are you rooted, and if so, what have modified? Sometimes its the rom or theme you've put on that makes things screwy.

    Now I need an explanation on what you are talking about. First of all, how do I do a reset?
    Next, what is "rooted"?

    its very easy you go to settings, privacy and theres a reset data option... "rooting" is when you jailbreak the phone and a "rom" is the custom firmware you put onto the phone after "rooting" it... doing a hard reset usually fixes all problems but you need to make sure you back everything up onto your SD card before reseting it (the phone will be completely wiped clear)

    I didn't mean a reset of data... just the phone itself. You know, like powering it off and then back on... Or even a battery pull...

    I've never used it, but I'm sure what you're proposing the OP do would do as the option suggests, wipe the data and settings of the phone. It doesn't sound like the data or options are the problem. Just a random screw up of the software which (should) be fixed by a "restart" of the phone.
