Why do some people say the Moment is a "brick"? I haven't done a side-by-side comparison, but according to specs I found online the Moment is smaller than the iPhone in width and height, and only 1.5mm thicker:

    Moment: 113.2 x 56.4 x 13.8 mm
    iPhone: 115.5 x 62.1 x 12.3 mm

Well worth it for a hardware keyboard, I might add.

that's absolutely correct. I have an iPod touch, and it's definitely larger on the first two dimensions.

Yet another reason to love the Moment.

here's a droid vs iphone vs moment comparison.

The only time I would see the appeal of the iphone dimensions would be if I was slipping it my front pocket all the time. I'll take the the extra thickness for the keyboard any day. And I'm sure next gen models will be a little thinner. I'd like to see it get close to an even 13mm in thickness. Would think the AMOLED screens would help with reducing overall thickness since they are their own light source.

I think most people refer to the moment as a brick because its pretty hefty.

I like it that way, feels solid. My GF has an ipod touch and i feel like i'm gonna break it whenever i put it in my pocket or even play an intense game that requires alot of touching

It's true that the Moment is heavier than the iPhone: 160gm vs 135gm, but that's less than a 1oz difference. The droid is barely more at 169gm.

The phone that legitimately deserved to be compared to a brick was the original DynaTAC (793 gm): Motorola DynaTAC - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
