    I want to make some changes to the admired monster that i just flashed. It doesn't have maps.apk or [web] browser.apk that the metropcs admire normally has. Also i want my old keyboard.

    I tried to simplyput the apks in data/apps and system apps. Not working. They aren't zipso i cant flash them.

    What can i do? I've tried different [web] browsers and keyboards and map apps.... I want mine. Lol

    ::spoiled brat tantrums::

    Please help

    So what your going to want to do is get a ROM best idea is stock++. Get root browser light open the ROM find the system/app folder multi select your apks extract browse your SD, find your files and move to your system/app folder reboot. PROFIT! Note... Your keybord 's apk is latinime.apk

    Or, even easier, if you have the APKs already, just simply put them on your SD card and open them with whatever file browser you use and install them. Easy as pie :)

    i think the keyboard is actually swype casue the android keyboard aka latinime.apk is already in there. anyways yeah thats what you do you grab the apks change their permissions to make it rw-r--r-- and then place them in the system/app folder. then reboot the phone

    you got to change the permissions for it to work. i dont know how it is with root browser lite but if its anything like root explerer then long press the apk file and a pop should appear listin things. find permissions and change them. and yes you can extract apk from roms. all you do is download the rom which i a zip file and open the file and find the apk file and drag it out of the zip file. simple as that. now if wanted to go into the apk file itself you could decompile or use 7zip but thats a different story so lets not get into that.

    Yup, I use root browser lite. Just long press on it, a menu will pop up, look for permissions (should be at the bottom), tap it, then on the first row, put checkmarks on the first two boxes, and on the second and third rows just checkmark the first box then hit save then reboot :D

    Am I missing something? Why don't you just install the APK from the file browser? Try to open it and it will ask you if you want to install it or not. If you don't have "Unknown Sources" checked it will tell you that you can't install it but if you check it then you can do it. I have never seen anyone have this much trouble with installing an app o_O

    maps can be installed from the playstore. as far as the browser goes just install opera mini or something just like it. metro browser sucks. it is way more space then needed and also not that great. if opera mini isnt what your looking for then try some other browser. there a few real good one on the playstore. if all else fails there is stock roms you can go to or you can add needed apps with a root broswer. google installing system apps root if all else does not work...

    edit.. see that you got maps working. sorry for not having maps and or a browser with this rom. was just trying to save space for people that dont need maps and hate metro browser

    only problem I'm having is dolphin keeps disappearing when I reboot for whatever reason. I am going to try opera mini I guess.

    disappearing from your launcher?

    yeah, I have the apk on my sd card. I install it from there. I add a short cut to the dock replacing the contacts short cut. I save it. If I turn the phone off or it just does a random reboot, dolphin is gone. I have to reinstall it and do the whole dance over again. I installed opera mini which I don't like but it's staying put and not disappearing. I also tried to flash the ics theme but installation aborts at every try so I gave up on that. So far I like monster though. Brought the clock down to 800 to save a little battery.

    Yeah it's just the launcher that comes with the rom. The only fix I've found for it is backing up all your apps via titanium backup. That will allow them to show up without rebooting. You could also always install a new launcher. I personally like holo launcher :p

    I have Go Launcher but this tiny phone is pressed for space as it is. I just kinda wish I could figure something out with the camera. I use Instagram alot.

    I would suggest using adw launcher. Go launcher always seemed a bit laggy on the admire and plus it comes with too much extra stuff.
