I am going crazy searching for a solution to delete unused home screens on my Moto G without using a launcher. I tried various options that came up on the google search but none worked. I am really hoping that there is a solution for my problem without resorting to use a launcher. I would greatly appreciate the help!

    Welcome to the Android Forums.

I believe, that with the (mostly) stock android that the Moto G has, you can't get rid of any of the screens. You need to use a 3rd party launcher. My current favorite (on my LG Motion 4G) is Holo Launcher HD.

Nova Launcher also allows you to set the number of home screens.

@alfick3, thanks for the confirmation. Android with so much customization still falls short on something so basic. Sigh!

@Thom, thanks! I guess I have to go with one of the launchers - I hope they are safe and free from malwares / trackings. It seems Nova is the most popular.

I believe that the majority of the 3rd party launchers are free of malware/tracking stuff. I tried Nova a while back, on my Motion, and liked it, but I stuck with Holo HD. I currently using just the free version, but plan on buying the pro key and will probably get the Holo locker and pro key for it as well.

Welcome to the forums, Astracastra! :hello:
Unfortunately, even with the KK/4.4.2 update, you don't have the new launcher. :(
There are work arounds if you'd like the stock launcher for it, check this tip:

I've tried both nova and holo launcher but always end up using holo. I have the plus version and love the dock options and gesture shortcuts.
You can have a pretty clean home screen and just have shortcuts for opening apps or calling people.

If you simply swipe to start the phone you bypass the home screens, so how does it
"fall short on something so basic?";)
