Hot off twitter: 4.4.3 coming to T-Mobile first, this week!
This is the way it should be for all phones. Kudos to Motorola.
The race is on. Let's see if the X gets the update before any Nexus variants again.
Just got 4.4.3 this evening.
Lol there was a firmware a the day of the announcement on xda
Nothing in the western US so far.
I got it for my N5 yesterday
East coast got it I guess gotta put stock recovery which is always an issue with me and moto devices... It never works only custom
Just got it earlier this evening. Applying the update now.
OK, I can confirm it is still Android.
Why wouldn't it be?
I have an irrational fear that it could turn the phone into an iPhone
SURGEON GENERAL'S WARNING:
Taking alostpacket's posts seriously can be a health hazard.
Seriously though, the changelog looks good and it seems like it may fix some small nagging issues I had with my moto X.
East Coast completely stock, no update yet, but I haven't experienced any of the bugs listed by ALP so I'm not stressing it.
^ Only had had a few of those . That's just a changelog I found on BGR.
The few I had were:
- Would lose connection sometimes when switching networks, and not be able to get any type of 3/4G back without a reboot. I tether a lot and this happened on my Gnex on Verizon also. I think it is something to do with switching networks/towers or connection direction/type
- I got a rare random reboot maybe once every two weeks. I have been getting this since forever on all my phones. I think it has to do with constant installing and re-installing the same app hundreds/thousands of times to test (as I do my app development work). Corrupts the Dalvik cache I think.
A few other items in the change log sounds vaguely familiar but not enough for me to remember a specific bug I was having.
All of these were minor though, still heart my X. (Not ex, X).
I have noticed the unlock screen sometimes seems to freeze when I have swiped down. Again my phones take quite a beating from the dev work so not sure if this is normal.
Got an update yesterday. Im in East coast. So far I don't see too much difference in camera focus or quality =(
No update in southeast Tennessee yet....
i have verizon moto g no update yet do i need to do something or wait
mostly wait if you want it over the air, not sure if you have to root to "side load" it.
Considering the changes they made to the dialer (tiled speed dial display, white background on the keypad), I'd like to be able to go back to 4.4.2.
What else have you noticed? I don't use the stock dialer but am wondering about the other stuff?
That's the only thing I really noticed. Here's a link to the release notes:
I like what they say about the dialer:
IMO, what they did was the opposite of improvement.
All I want is my dialer back
I'm sure some intrepid young whippersnapper coder will take the older AOSP dialer and put it on the Play store.
This is how things like Nova launcher got started.
There should also be a lot of other dialers out there too. But I havent used any. Not sure how hard it is to swap but should be doable.
It's easy to use another dialer but they all have their issues. It seems no one can just make a dialer that's easy to use, like say I don't know.....Froyo ....lol
