1. Are you ready for the Galaxy S20? Here is everything we know so far!

Moto z - still has apps running in background.

Ccleaner, Pedometer espcially throughout the day, anyways how to make them not show up on
    the notification bar?

Recent versions of Android let you block notifications for specific apps: try long press on the notification or swipe it just a little and you should find an option to disable them. I'm not sure what Android version this started at though, since I skipped from 5 to 8 in one go so never used 6 or 7. And it does block all notifications for that app.

What do you use ccleaner for? If it's just disk cleaning then you don't need it running in the background at all. And if it doesn't have settings to stop that stuff then try something like SD Maid, which only does storage maintenance. "memory cleaner", "phone booster" are just euphemisms for "task killer", so you don't want that stuff anyway.

Pedometer: well there are a huge number of pedometer apps, so if this one has an annoying notification and no setting to turn it off, and your phone doesn't have the option to block notifications (or you don't want to block all notifications from the app) then you can always find another which doesn't do this.

    I have Android 8.0.0

I use it sometimes, but I can do that, thanks I will install SD Maid :)

I will not use it all the time, since my pedometer you can edit any steps in your own way.

*Started with Ccleaner for my pc like around fourteen or so years ago, one of my friends from a different chat started with me, espcially had all kinds of stuff that went wrong with it.

@Hadron, Milo and I have the same problem, described in this thread's title; we've discussed it before, as we have the same phone (Moto Z² Force Edition, Oreo) and are both annoyed by the issue. Here's what we're dealing with:

    Screenshot_20190117-133124.png

    Swiping yields:

    Screenshot_20190117-133611.png

    Choosing its settings button yields:

    Screenshot_20190117-133639.png

    Then choosing 'all categories:'

    Screenshot_20190117-133758.png

As you see, "apps running in background" is turned off in notifications.

Choosing its clock button 'snoozes' it for an arbitrary, non-configurable one hour.

    It cannot be swiped away.

We've yet to find a way to get rid of the damned thing!

Ah, so it's a system notification that's showing despite being turned off. OK, that's different from how I understood it.

Question is, is it turned off? That toggle switch looks to me like it's greyed-out but in the on position. This is the equivalent bit of my Pixel's settings Screenshot_20190117-230500.png
That "app running" is the closest thing I have to "apps running in background" and as you see that's a greyed-out tick. I read that as either "this is on and we won't let you turn it off" or "this would be on but it's overridden by something else". The first would be bad, the second would imply that it should be off.

Either way mine looks like yours, but I don't receive these messages. If I can work out what this means (i.e. what might override it) I'll let you know....

@Hadron, here are some more screenshots of settings:

The on-but-grayed-out switches have options chosen within, as shown above. For example, 'apps running in background' has its 'importance' set to 'low'--which is the lowest of its four possible choices. And, as in the earlier shot, it's set for 'no sound or visual interruption.'

I've plodded through every setting that MIGHT possibly solve the problem, but am still coming up empty. Any ideas you may have are gratefully welcome. :)
