Members who frequent the Motorola Atrix forums can better answer your question about that device, Jrife, so I've moved the thread out of the News forum.

I think it is all that. Mine is blazing fast with no lag at all, for anything I do. I also have amazing battery life, unlike some here who say their battery life sucks.

I had a Galaxy S (Captivate) prior to the Atrix. By comparison, the Atrix is ALL that....mostly because it works where my Captivate did not (GPS, Bluetooth, etc).

Many people will complain about the display of the Atrix compared to SAMOLED devices. It's important to remember that SAMOLED looks nice but is over saturated and over bright. The Atrix is none of those things though it gets plenty bright.

There are some issues with some apps that just aren't as smooth or polished as they should be (Gallery, Browser). But, overall, the Atrix is a very nice phone and I'm quite pleased with it.

There is a nasty bug where the mobile data connection gets hosed (technical term) and won't work again until a reboot. Surely, Motorola will fix this. :)

Overall how would you compare it to your Galaxy S? As far as which is easier to use? reliable? functions? etc etc. feel of phone and all that.

I f'ing hated the captivate. From its need for a lagfix (which still doesnt make it as fast as my Nexus one) to its borked GPS-hardware, that phone REALLY pissed me off after coming from an Evo. It pissed me off so much, I bought a Nexus One.

Thank god for the Atrix, its a Super phone on ATT. Once HSUPA is enabled, this phone is everything I wanted. Hacked webtop mode is BALLER

As far as easeness goes, compared to the SGS, its about the same.

Overall, the Atrix is a far superior phone to me. The GPS is stellar. It locks quickly and it tracks accurately. My Captivate couldn't keep a lock or track my position accurately. The Atrix also works very well with the Bluetooth in my vehicle. I have a Kenwood HU with a KCABT200 Bluetooth module. The Captivate would stream music via A2DP but would stutter several times per song. The Atrix does not have that issue. Streaming is perfect.

The Captivate needed a lagfix otherwise it was prone to lag in the UI. The Atrix doesn't need the same kind of fix. Some folks will insist that the Atrix is laggy but I don't think it's the Atrix. Instead, some applications (Gallery, Stock Browser, etc) are not optimized well for this device. Using replacement applications, the lag is removed and the Atrix really shines.

    See for yourself:

I think both phones are very light (too much maybe). They both like to fall out of my hands. I think the Captivate had a slightly better feel to it since it had a metallic battery cover and better assembly system. The Atrix does feel "cheap" with the all plastic back and the snap on assembly. But, I keep mine in a case so those points really don't apply anymore.

I used to be a real Samsung Fanboy  but decided to give Moto my business this time around after watching the quality I was getting from Samsung products take a downturn the last 5 years in terms of the reliability of their hardware. I took a different approach this time around. Rather than doing product comparisons and reviews of smartphone features and software performance I went to a warranty claims company instead ;)

Motorola was tied with iphone at a very low ~2% malfunction rate. HTC came in at 3.7%. Then it triples for all the other manufacturers. You might be wondering at this point why I chose Motorola instead of iPhone, but simply due to the fact that you're on the Android forums, I'm betting many of you feel the same way about companies like MS and Apple as I do :D

The phone is awesome...however, here in NYC at&t absolutely suxx! The data connection goes from full H+ (3G 1/2) to a zero connection within 2 seconds. So yes the phone is awesome, however, the network might be the worst out of all the BIG players. Put this phone on VZW or even Sprint, and you have a world beater.
