Sorry to hear you missed it, it's def a great deal. But if I wasn't on this plan, all their recent moves would have caused me to jump ship, I believe.

At least he flat out missed it; they told me they signed me up for it and proceeded to charge me full price for both data plans on my account. Then they had the audacity to deny me canceling the extra plan by prorating it. Two months later, I was able to get them to give me prorated refund. I can't wait to ditch Verizon; my coverage already sucks with them, so I lose nothing by switching to T-mobile or Sprint. /rant

Then you understand why I'm not re-uping with Verizon under my current price plan structure? To be fair I don't feel entitled to the promotion. But I am pissed that everyone I know got it and other then dr.doom I've never heard of anyone getting turned down besides me.

This all wouldn't be an issue if Verizons plans/prices where competitive. There is no free mobile to mobile or free incoming calls with Verizon. Same with txt messages. Their phones are always a little weaker then the competition. What throughly blew me away when I activated the fascinate last week was the shear amount of bloat ware that thing had on it. I was stunned. All this for a steeper price then the competition JUST for the better network? Sorry, the network isn't worth that.

You took the words right out of my mouth. The HTC Sensation(except the name) is looking to be a great alternative to the excellent (sarcasm) lineup of Verizon's phones.

Oh, I def completely understand and couldn't fault anyone for wanting to end their service with Verizon. They've proven that the customer is their last concern and with their decision to lock people into 2 year contracts with merely adequate phones (when I really thought we were over that hump), and to charge even more (two Android releases this year, two increases in price) is enough for any customer to want to jump ship. Me personally, it would cost too much to early terminate, I'd have to wait until Oct of next year before my contract would end, and the monthly price I'm getting is a little too good. I know I won't get a family plan with a minimum of 3 smartphones for $220 a month, let alone 5 lines.

So you don't have free mobile-to-mobile or texting? That must have something to do with your plan. I have unlimited texting to and from anyone, and free mobile-to-mobile as long as it's from someone on the Verizon network. It's how i can manage 1400 shared minutes on 5 lines, as the majority of our conversations are with each other (not to mention many if not most of my friends and family). When I add the 10 numbers for the Friends and Family package, plus free night and weekends, I don't come anywhere near 1400 mins.

Are Verizon's plans really that "over priced" compared to the competition? They generally do offer better coverage; with the plan I have I get 10 free "friends," on ANY phone, mobile or landline, as well as all free Verizon-to-Verizon, and unlimited text messaging. As far as bloatware, it seems that most users complain about their carrier's add-ons. My biggest complaint would be the lack of the best phones in their line-up. Until the Android phones started, they always seemed to have the least exciting phones, although it seems that is starting to change.

Before I got on my latest plan I would have said "Probably", but with my current plan, I know I won't get close to as good a deal. My anger with them is the price hike on smartphones and dropping the 1 year contracts. But my plan's structure and price, I'm very comfortable with.

The problem with Bionic is that it's coming too late. By Q3 this year, Tegra2 phones will no longer hold edge over other dual cores like Samsung Exynos, Snapdragon 8660, TI OMAP4 in phones like SGSII, Sensation, Thrill. Even bumping up clock speed to 1.2Ghz in Tegra2 won't be enough. If Bionic comes with Tegra3, then it's different story, but I think chance of that is very slim this year.

Unfortunately though, 95% of consumers that are in the market for a smart phone aren't concerned with the processors that are contained within the phone. The small percentage of tech savvy individuals that want the latest technology processor and the latest/greatest phone are in the minority. I'm sure the Bionic will do well when it is released, because most will think that a Moto phone with dual cores will last them for two years, where a lot of us (me included) will not be happy with it, because there is always a better phone with faster processors on the near horizon.

At this point, I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I did go into AT&T this weekend and played with the Moto Atrix for about 20 minutes and wasn't that impressed- yes, it was fast, but the overall quality of it felt cheap, and I didn't like the pentile-matrix display- it looked very grainy. I'm also quite used to 4.3" of real estate on the Evo. I'm going to keep my eyes open for upcoming devices.

I'm in same boat, wanted a Bionic, and want the speed of VZ 4G, but went to ATT and the Atix while fast I was not digging the touch screen sensitivity as well as Blur. Also the "4G" on ATT is so damn slow, went to VA and tried a Bolt and it was so damn fast, but I need something with better battery and really prefer something with a little bit more current hardware (dual cores and better res display). With ATT throwing the phones at me to sign up for UVerse TV I may do ATT for 6-12 months since the phones will be free and they pro-rate their ETF I can dump ATT in 8-10 months ebay the phones and break even.

Im basically off the Bionic bandwagon. They're keeping the same hardware, only changing the software a bit? BS.

Motorola Mobility, Inc. - Media Center - Fact Sheets - The New DROID BIONIC: Coming Soon

The New DROID BIONIC: Coming Soon

    April 19, 2011
Motorola Mobility delivered the original DROID in 2009, an award winning device and one of the most successful smartphones launched. The company followed with the DROID X, DROID 2 Global, and DROID PRO. We believe the DROID BIONIC will have those same award winning features and will be one of the best 4G LTE devices on the market.

Motorola's DROID BIONIC LTE smartphone, first announced at this year's International Consumer Electronics Show, will launch this summer with Verizon Wireless. Based on compelling feedback since the show, we are incorporating several enhancements to make this an even better consumer experience. This includes expanded features, functionality and an improved form factor. Motorola Mobility and Verizon Wireless are very excited about bringing the 'new' DROID BIONIC to market.

I picked up a used Droid X this weekend for $200. I'm loving it, and can now wait it out for the Bionic no problem. My first generation Droid was just too slow and laggy, I couldn't take it anymore. I love the thin shape of the X (and of course the 4.3 inch screen). I hope the new and improved/delayed Droid has a similar shape....

Get yourself the verizon extended battery and you will absolutely love your DroidX :)
It barely changes the thickness of the phone and the extra battery life is always a great thing:D
