Hi Guys,

As per the title it's time for a change on phone make and model.

I've performed a little homework on the change but I'd like any / all input.

Q ,Best way to move contacts from my iPhone to Samsung.
SmartSwitch ?
Gmail ?
Other ?

Q, Stock browser or Google Chrome or another ?

Q, Stock Message App or another ?

Q, Is Nova one of the better options to use ?

Q, I read it's an idea to disable FlipBoard driefing ?

Any little tips to enhance usage , Battery tips / user experience greatly appreciated.

Eric Schmidt wrote this about transferring from iOS to android a while back, it covers the contacts and how to transfer them: https://plus.google.com/+EricSchmidt/posts/JcfVoJhW2Kw

I don't like Chrome, Naked Browser is my mobile browser of choice. Try textra as your text app too, it's served me well for years. :)

Nova is a pretty good choice for your launcher too, I use it on all my devices.

  • Chrome is my browser of choice. It works across all my devices.
  • I agree that Textra is the messaging app to use.
  • I also agree that Nova is the launcher to use.
  • If you use Nova as your launcher the Flipboard Briefing in TouchWiz should be gone.

Thank you.

I agree I think Chrome will be my choice.

By using Nova does this turn off most things associated with TouchWizz ?

A few people have suggested Textra. I assume it gives more functions than the stock option ?

Thank you.

I looked at the Note 7 and nearly pulled the trigger for a handset only cost of £700.

I had to delay until I was paid my salary which not soon after the issue arose.

Now they are off sale in the uk until late October.

I needed a new phone so after playing with the s7 edge I opted for that.

This is my 2nd day of ownership and I'm still fine tuning it.

The transition so far has been an enjoyable one.
