Has anyone figured out what you have to do to view a movie in the droid with 2.2?
They worked on 2.1
Not sure what you mean. Streaming movies or movies off the SD card? I watched Star Wars III just last night on my Droid. 2.2 didn't change that. What exactly are you trying to do?
Movies of SD card. I have several, like 30 movies that played on 2.1 now most all do not. Sounds like a common problem.
They are MPEG4 but I have one wmv that will play but th. e others will not.
I have this problem as well. In my collection it is only the mp4v/mp4a codec movies that are 320x240 that don't play. All other sizes work fine. Curious if you see the same.
Use Handbrake to convert them to M4v or MP4, whatever is an iPhone format, and it should work.
hey, I got a loooong plane trip coming up, where can I get some flicks to watch?
I used DVD Catalyst 3 to convert my DVDs to Droid HQ format. No problems whatsoever.
Early this morning, I just watched The Karate Kid and The Pursuit of Happyness while waiting for
my mom at her appointment and Im on 2.2.
I don't see how 2.2 could change that.
EDIT: I also use handbrake.
My movies all work fine. I used Handbrake to create them.
I tried the Handbrake way to size movies but I was screwing that up. i got the arcMedia app and then i just uploaded an avi movie right to the sd card and used that to open it. plays perfect. It was really straight forward and simple. (I'm not the most tech savvy so I could be missing something.)
Droid with 2.2
yep, read that and found that thread yesterday
I use Doubletwist already, so likely going to go that route for syncing.
I found something that seems to work.
WMV format with 320X180 resolution. (Thats strange)
I also found that movies play better if selected from the gallery and not selected from Astro file browser.
I havent found the secret to getting MP4 to work.
I convert with 123 movies to psp.
Format the MP4s with iphone settings, I do this with HandBrake if they won't play or just have sound.
worked perfectly on 2.1 and still works perfectly on 2.2
