Hey all! New Note 10.1 user here, and I'm playing with apps/folders. I downloaded a PDF of one of textbooks and wanted to move it to the desktop for easy access, but I've tried for like to an hour to no avail.

If I go to the downloads app, I can't drag and drop, and it only allows me to open the PDF using Polaris Office or Textbooks (haven't downloaded Adobe Reader yet). If I go to the file in the files app, I can only export it to several different areas (i.e. Dropbox, email, Evernote, etc.). Is there a simple way to put the file on the desktop?

Have you tried simply connecting via USB then using Windows Explorer (Windows Key + E) to drag and drop the files to your PC?

I meant putting the files on the desktop of the Note itself. But thanks! That was another question I had.

There is no desktop on Android like on your PC so you cannot put anything on it.

There are apps that allow you to create links to files on the homescreen. Maybe try ES File Explorer.
