What is the most efficient way to move *selected* paid and free apps to my new unlocked phone? Both are Motorola phones and I don't want any of the Verizon or Motorola bloatware apps on the new phone. Since I can not uninstall them from my locked phone, if they are copied to the unlocked phone will I be able to uninstall them then?

Just sign into the google play store on your new device, and then you can install them to it either on the device itself (using the play store app) or from the play store web page.

The uninstallable stuff comes already installed on the phone (i.e. as system apps). So if your unlocked phone doesn't have those apps you don't need to worry about them being transferred to it and turning into system apps .
