2 year Hero user here. Got my wife the Evo for Christmas, going to get myself an Evo tomorrow. Giving my Hero to my son but before I do I'm going to try and learn how to root it. Somehow voiding that warranty and risking the destruciton of a perfectly good phone doesn't frighten me nearly so much now that it isn't my phone.
I came here to see what people think about their Evos, what I might want to load first, and to pick up any Hero and root data I can.
In the HTC Hero for Sprint forum I see a whole subforum dedicated to rooting so I'm excited to dig in. I'm a total n00b when it comes to rooting, looking forward to it.
