MPCS New Promo - Buy Galaxy S7 and get a free Gear VR

Similar to T-Mobile promo, Metro PCS is advertising free Gear VR for S7 purchase.

Although the web doesn't have ANY details about the phone and there's no mention about S7 Edge. So I am not sure what would be the final price of S7. BTW T-Mobile sells S7 for $669.99 and S7 Edge for $779.99 so this will give you rough estimate of MPCS version of the phone.

So, what all is involved in doing this? The more I research, the more confused I seem to be getting. Will it need to be unlocked? Will I have to buy a new sim (or is the one in my current S5 fine)? What other problems may I run into?

You would need a new sim (the S7 uses a nano sim). You just call metro from your phone give them the imei number of the S7. That's it. T-Mobile branded phones don't need anything else done.

Considering Tmobile price, I am calling Metro PCS S7 for $619.99 ($50 cheaper)

MPCS updated their web site. S7 is now available from Metro PCS Web site.

The price is $649.99 which is $20 cheaper than T-mobile.

But considering T-mobile provides B1G1 promotion deal, not sure how many consumers Metro S7 can attract.
